Evidence of Status Extended for those pending Removal of Conditions
On September 3, 2021, USCIS announced that due to the long delays they are experiencing, they will extend the evidence of current status for pending I-751 or I-829 permanent residents from 18 months to 24 months.
Normally, conditional permanent residents receive a receipt notice that includes an 18-month extension from the expiration date indicated on the permanent resident card. However, they have decided to extend the period to 24 months.
USCIS also indicated that pending applicants will receive this new Notice of Receipt which will serve as proof of permanent resident status for 24 months from the expiration of the green card while their cases are still being adjudicated.
