Immigrant Heritage Month
Immigrant Heritage Month
On June 1, 2021, the Administration issued a proclamation to designate June as National Immigrant Heritage Month.
In his speech, President Biden called the United States a nation of immigrants that makes us culturally richer, better and stronger. He also noted that we must recognize the contribution immigrants have made to the country over the centuries and end the demonization of immigrants. He urged Congress to pass the immigration reform plan known as the United States Citizenship Act of 2021 that he introduced on his first day as president that would provide a path to permanent residency and citizenship for nearly 11 million undocumented immigrants.
